» The Trade SIA: Have your say!

The Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) currently under negotiation between the EU and China will likely seek to open up new areas in trade and investments, going beyond the WTO obligations of the parties, which will have important consequences for a multitude of stakeholders. The EU-China Trade SIA is a project to assess how the trade and investment provisions of the new EU-China PCA could affect economic, social and environmental issues in the Europe and China. The Trade SIA will play an important role in formulating the so-called flanking  measures which reduce any negative impacts that result from trade liberalisation and enhance the positive impacts. The SIA integrates sustainable development into trade negotiations and provides the opportunity for all stakeholders - both in China and Europe - to feed directly into the PCA negotiations, by asking which issues are most important to you.
